The Kharmas of the year 2023 has already started from December 16 and will end when the Sun enters Capricorn on Makar Sankranti on January 15, 2024.

According to astrological calculations, when Lord Sun travels in the zodiac sign of Jupiter, the power of Jupiter becomes weak during that time. At the same time, the brightness of the sun also reduces and in astrology, it is believed that for auspicious works it is very important for these two planets to be strong. This is the reason why auspicious and auspicious works are prohibited during this period.

Kharmas has already started. According to astrology, whenever Sun transits into Sagittarius or Pisces in any zodiac sign, Kharmas begins. All the auspicious tasks during Kharmas are prohibited.

It is believed that one should practice doing meditation, yagya, charity etc. during Kharmas which helps in the union of soul and God. One should remove their mind from worldly things and should focus on spiritualty. 

Be it science or religion, life on Earth cannot be imagined without the Sun. To run life smoothly, positive energy of nature is required. Sun, the god of energy, enters Sagittarius in the middle of December and Kharmas get started as soon as the Sun enters Sagittarius.

According to astrology, Kharmas comes twice a year, when the Sun enters Jupiter's zodiac signs Sagittarius and Pisces.

According to astrology, in Kharmas, the Sun gathers all its energy as soon as it approaches the house of Devguru Jupiter. It then bends down to show respect for Devguru Jupiter, which causes all auspicious taska to pause for a while. 
People born under the signs of Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces are often lucky while the Sun is in Sagittarius during Sankranti.

At the time of Kharmas, Lord Sun and Lord Vishnu should be worshiped so that auspicious energy can develop in life through spiritual powers. It is advisable to recite Aditya Hridaya Stotra every day during Kharmas.

Avoid doing these things during Kharmas

  • Mundan Sanskar should never be performed in the month of Kharmas.
  • Marriage or any auspicious work should not take place in this month.
  • No farewell for daughter or daughter-in-law in this month.
  • Do not initiate the new businesses or endeavours.
  • One should avoid eating wheat, rice, white paddy, moong, sesame, jackfruit, mango, dry ginger, cumin, amla, betel nut, rock salt.
  • Avoid getting into unnecessary arguments, do not condemn any god, guru, cow, woman.

What to do in Kharmas?

  • Worship Lord Vishnu in Kharmas. 
  • Ekadashi falling in this month also have special significance. By observing a fast and worshiping Lord Vishnu as per the rituals, one attains all the happiness.
  • Sufferings go away by doing charity, charity, chanting and meditating in Kharmas.
  • Offer water (Arghaya) to Lord Sun, Tulsi and Peepal.
  • Regularly offering water and raw milk to the Peepal tree brings happiness and prosperity along with wealth.
