Geeta Jayanti: Significance & methods to seek blessings of Lord Krishna

On December 22, 2023, Geeta Jayanti will be observed. By imparting the wisdom of the Geeta to Arjun during the Mahabharata war, Lord Krishna helped him to see the goodness of life. This conversation was included in the Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, the holy scripture of Hindus.

Since Lord Krishna is the source of all the verses in the Geeta, Geeta Jayanti is observed annually on Mokshada Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha. Geeta is revered across the world.

Geeta Jayanti Puja Vidhi

• On the day of Geeta Jayanti, it is considered auspicious to install Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta and Laddoo Gopal in the house. On this day, bringing peacock feathers, one-sided coconut and flute brings blessings to Goddess Lakshmi.
• On this day, after bathing, make a square with flour at the place of worship and place the Gita Granth on a wooden platform and worship with turmeric, kumkum, flowers and rice.
• Worship Lord Krishna as per the rituals. Then recite Geeta at home with the entire family.
• Read the chapter you have started and do not leave it incomplete. By following the teachings of Geeta, all difficulties and doubts are resolved. Happiness and prosperity come in the family and one gets salvation.
• After reciting Geeta, you can plant a banana tree in a temple, this pleases Lord Krishna.
• Donate gram dal, banana, ghee, jaggery, rice, clothes and warm clothes to the needy.
• If you are not able to recite Geeta on Geeta Jayanti, then chant some special mantras, this also brings blessings of Shri Krishna.
