Apart from these, one should not perform Shradh for others on this day. That can be performed on Amavasya Tithi, which is the last day of Pitru Paksha.

Chaturdashi Shradh is also known as Ghat Chaturdashi Shradh, Ghayal Chaturdashi Shradh and Chaudas Shradh. This year Chaturdashi Shradh will be observed on Friday, October 13, 2023.

According to scriptures, it is believed that one should perform shradh in Muhurtas like Kutup, Rauhin etc., which are considered auspicious for offering Tarpan to the ancestors. Shardh for people died on Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha or Shukla Paksha can be performed on this day.

When is Amavasya Tithi?

The last day of the Pitru Paksha, is Amavasya Tithi, which will be observed on October 14, 2023. Shradh on Amavasya Tithi is performed for those deceased family members who died on Chaturdashi Tithi.

In addition to this, people who are not aware of the Tithis of the deceased ancestors, they can also perform Shradh on Amavasya, which is also known as Sarvpitru Moksha Amavasya.
