Amavasya or Amavas is considered as one of an important day in Hinduism. According to the scriptures, the day is completely dedicated to the worship of ancestors. Amavasya falls every month and can be calculated according to the date and using the Hindu Panchang Calander.

It is believed that one should not perform any auspicious task like marriage, engagement, mundan and house warming on Amavasya.

However, according to beliefs, Amavasya is considered auspicious for performing religious activities like holy bath in the holy river Ganga, Pitru Tarpan, Pitru Puja, Pind Daan, donating and donating, performing Havan and providing food to Brahmins.

Mauni Amavasya, Somvati Amavasya, Shanichari Amavasya, Kartik Amavasya, Mahalaya Amavasya or Sarva Pitru Amavasya, Hariyali Amavasya and Vat Amavasya are some of the major Amavasyas celebrated in Hinduism.

According to astrology, this day is not considered a powerful day as it is dedicated to the Moon and on this day the Moon is in its waning period and this period is considered inauspicious for those people who have a bad position of the Moon in their birth chart.

There are some remedies that you can practice to get rid of the bad effects of the Moon.

You will not feel good or energetic on this day, so you should offer water to the moon in the evening, also you should offer water to Lord Shiva because only Lord Shiva can protect you from its inauspicious effects.

Shravan Amavasya: Amavasya Tithi Start on August 3, 2024 – 3:50 PM and will end at 4:42 PM on August 4, 2024.

Bhadrapada Amavasya: Amavasya Tithi Start on September 2, 2024 – 5:21 AM and will end at 7:24 AM on 3 September 3, 2024
