Adhik Maas Poornima is also known as Shravan Adhik Poornima which falls on a full moon day in July or August, according to the Gregorian calendar. Adhik Maas is an extra month added to the Hindu lunar calendar which generally falls every three years. The month is also known as Purushottam Maas or Mal Maas.
The significance of Adhik Maas this year is also important because it is falling with Shravan Maas. The celestial occurrence will take place after 19 years. The time is considered to be auspicious for the devotees who want to go on a spiritual journey to strengthen their devotion to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.
